Disclaimer: We were preparing for UPSC CSE and never exclusively prepared for BPSC but based on our experience and in consultation with some of our colleagues wGee have come out with a list of books and resource.
The important point is to focus on limited resource and repeating it again and again.

PRELIMS-
General Science - Lucent objective book is more than enough, especially human physiology part.
Events of national and international importance - GK today monthly objective questions + Ghatna Chakra current affairs + Book on Bihar by Spardha Publication for Bihar related matters. Also questions from sports are often asked so please do take any module freely available on internet and study for last one year. State wise current affairs on affairscloud.com is also good for Bihar’s CA (read last one year).
History of Bihar and Indian History - Most of the questions are factual in this section and the bulk of it is from modern history
Ancient & Medieval - Lucent's General Knowledge & questions from previous years & also questions from some good test series
Modern History - A Brief History of Modern India by Rajiv Ahir + Factual questions can be done from Ghatna Chakra History book that contains questions from UPPSC, BPSC, JPSC and all are objective type questions.
History of Bihar – Book on Bihar by Spardha Publication &/or any other good GK book on Bihar
Geography - NCERT 11& 12th & MRUNAL videos. For Bihar related questions a book named Book on Bihar by Spardha Publication will help in tackling questions. Geography through Maps by Pramod Sharma/ K Siddharta will help in gaining knowledge about places in India (Mountains, Rivers, Minerals, and Wildlife Sanctuary etc.)
Geography of Bihar - Book on Bihar by Spardha Publication &/or any other good GK book on Bihar.
Indian Polity : M Laxmikant is enough
Indian Economy: Basics can be studied from Sriram coaching notes & Mrunal videos on economics.
Indian National Movement and the Role of Bihar – Any good GK book on Bihar.
General Mental Ability – Previous year questions and solve similar questions.
Note: Do all previous years questions as they get frequently repeated in BPSC. And also analyze the trend and focus on important part.
Mains:
GS PAPER 1-
Modern History of India: A booklet by Aastha IAS will help in tackling history questions as syllabus is limited. A Brief History of modern India by Rajiv Ahir will play important role here.
Indian Culture: Referred book written by Nitin Singhania only for topics mentioned in the syllabus. Also the booklet by Aastha IAS.
Important thing is that syllabus is limited and question gets repeated in cyclic manner.
Contemporary events of national and international importance: Newspaper reading & monthly magazine of any coaching (we read VisionIAS) & Mains 365 by VisionIAS.
Statistical Analysis, diagrams and graphs: practice previous years questions and do it carefully as it can improve your score immensely in paper 1. Get your own simple calculator in the exam.
GS PAPER 2:
Indian (and Bihar) Polity: M laxmikant & Newspapers (The Hindu or Indian Express) & Current Affairs magazine. Nothing specifically needs to be done for Bihar, just the normal awareness and smart work in answer writing.
Indian (and Bihar) Economy: Sriram notes & Mains 365 (Govt schemes) & Executive summary of Economic survey of India & Bihar & Current Issues.
Indian (and Bihar) Geography: Geography questions can be tackled by NCERT 11 & 12th + Mrunal geography videos. Any book on Bihar for Bihar’s Geography.
Role and impact of Science and Technology in the development of India (and Bihar): There is no specific book for this. Newspapers + Monthly magazines (science & tech section). Prepare notes on nuclear energy, renewable energy, climate change, Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Space Technology etc from Internet or one may also get it in some magazines such as (VisionIAS PT365 & Mains 365).
Optional:
One may take the same optional as in their optional in UPSC CSE. Other people may take their graduation subject or Labour & Social welfare.
Interview:
Awareness about Current Affairs through Newspaper & Monthly magazine. Focus on optional subject also. The quality of questions in BPSC interview is generally very good.
About my experience in BPSC:
I had appeared for 62nd Combined Civil Service Examination by BPSC and was recommended in Bihar Finance Service. I could clear the exam with the support of Rohit.
